AMIGO TRAPO (Construcción – 79,5 x 90 cm   2018)

La palabra "trapo" tiene unas connotaciones peyorativas y despectivas. Pero un día, uno se da cuenta de que el trapo, compañero inseparable de múltiples trabajos, intentos y pruebas, pide ser algo más que el avío para limpiar pinceles, espátulas y chorreones de pinturas. Se le coge estima y uno se niega a tirarlo a la basura. Y entonces se dialoga con él y se le escriben cosas, ya que no se les pueden decir. Se le hace partícipe de nuestra cotidianeidad. Al cabo del tiempo, es como un diario que refleja parte de nuestra vida.

MY FRIEND THE RAG (Construction – 79,5 x 90 cm   2018)

The word "rag" has pejorative and negative connotations. But one day, you might realise that the rag, inseparable companion of a whole lot of jobs, trials and tests, asks to be something more than an aid to clean brushes, spatulas and dribbles of paint. It gains esteem and you don’t want to throw it away. And then you want to communicate with it and you start to write, given that you can’t speak to it. You make it take part in our everyday affairs. After a while, it’s like a diary which reflects part of our life.
