LA PUERTA QUE VA ADÓNDE (Acrílico / lienzo – 97 x 146,5 cm   2014)

Un muro imposible que no rompe la continuidad de un suelo sin vida. El grupo sombrío de seres apretados avanza apoyándose en la sombra uniforme de un sol a punto de acabarse. Una puerta ostentosa e innecesaria que se abre, prometedora, al parecer a otro universo, que lo es porque sus horizontes son distintos. Una invitación engañosa a entrar en un nuevo y prometedor mundo que no es tal.

 

Recordando, con todo el dolor y el cariño, a los miles de migrantes que mueren en las aguas del Estrecho.

AND WHERE DOES THE GATE LEAD (Acrylic / canvas – 97 x 146,5 cm   2014)

An impossible wall which doesn’t break the continuity of a lifeless ground. The gloomy group of pressed beings advances leaning against the uniform shadow of a disappearing sun. An ostentatious and unnecessary gate which opens, promisingly, seemingly to another universe, and indeed it is so, because it has different horizons. A deceptive invitation to enter into a new and promising world, which isn’t.

 

Remembering, with all sorrow and love, those thousands of migrants who die in the waters of the Strait.
