LA PUERTA DE JEREZ (Acrílico / lienzo – 54 x 81,5 cm   2012)

¿Cuántos tiempos, cuántas lluvias y vendavales han traspasado esa Puerta?

 

La muralla de Tarifa se ofrece huidiza, inclinada, desvalida en sus heridas. Con una carretera-camino que es agua, mar, y fuga hacia el horizonte, las verticales la obligan a apartarse y abrirse a un cielo fantástico.

 

Un único elemento de nuestro tiempo, el semáforo, concebido como de sombra imposible, hace de tenaza entre el espacio que la Puerta resume y un entorno que no merece más que ser sugerido. Lo único consistente y pesado es esta muralla fantaseada que la Puerta nos abre.

How many epochs, how much rain, how many gales have passed through this Gate?

 

The Wall of Tarifa appears fugitive, inclined, powerless in its wounds. With a roadway that is water, sea, and flees to the horizon, the verticals make it stand out and open to a fantastic sky.

 

An unique element of our time, the traffic light, conceived as an impossible shadow, links the space the Gate summarizes and the environment which is merely a suggestion. The only consistent and weighty thing is this fantasised city wall which the Gate opens
