LA CIUDAD INESTABLE (Acrílico / lienzo - 92 x 146,5 cm   2015)

La ciudad, reflejo de sus habitantes; construida a su imagen y semejanza. Cuando la ciudad se tambalea se torna insegura, desvalida, inestable. Necesita ayuda. ¿Es capaz de autoayudarse? Los elementos que dan sentido a esta obra y esconden la incógnita final son esa especie de lianas o cuerdas que unen los edificios y que no sabemos muy bien qué función desempeñan. ¿Son como cordones umbilicales que les sirven para comunicarse unos con otros? ¿Para sujetarse entre sí? ¿Para alimentarse? Su inestabilidad es sorprendentemente estable y desafiante.

THE UNSTABLE CITY (Acrylic / canvas - 92 x 146,5 cm   2015)

The city, a mirror of its inhabitants; made in their image and likeness. When the city trembles it turns insecure, helpless, unstable. It needs help. Is it able to help itself? The elements which give sense to this work while hiding the unknown outcome are those kinds of vines or ropes which join the buildings and whose purpose we are unclear about. Are they like umbilical cords which serve to communicate one with another? To hold the buildings together? To nourish? Their instability is surprisingly stable and defiant.
